GREAT OPPORTUNITY >>>

Received this from Camberwell Arts Festival:

A call to artists:  We are delighted to invite local artists and designers to create an artwork for Camberwell Green as part of this year's Camberwell Arts Festival in June. This project has been made possible by Camberwell Community Council's Cleaner, Greener, Safer Fund, awarded to Camberwell Arts.

Artists are invited to submit designs based on the following theme: Views on Camberwell. Taking Camberwell itself as muse, we invite artists to celebrate the SE5 area in its many guises. From local legends to the people and places that define Camberwell as it is here and now, we are looking for work that holds up a spotlight to this unique corner of South London and creates an iconic image for Camberwell.

How work will be displayed: Selected works will be hung on the railings of Camberwell Green. Because of the outdoor nature of the exhibition, all works will be printed and displayed as a full colour A0 vinyl banner (84.1 x 118.9 cm). All work will be displayed in landscape format.

How artwork should be submitted: Artwork should be supplied as either a JPEG, TIFF or PSD file at 300dpi or a preferred file would be an illustrator EPS vector file. Artwork should be set up at a quarter of the size of the actual banner (A0 - 84.1 x 118.9 cm). Artwork should be submitted in a landscape format. If your artwork is selected, you will need to be able to supply fonts and colours with Pantone Matching System reference, if possible. Selected works will need to incorporate the Southwark Council logo in the bottom right hand corner of the banner and provision should be made for this in your design. The logo is blue on a white background (Pantone > colour 314) and will need to be incorporated on the banner at a size of 20cm (length) x 10.77 (width). You will need to leave a 2cm bleed at the top and bottom of the banners to allow for eyelet etc. Camberwell Arts will be able to provide technical support to any artist whose work is selected but who is unable to meet the technical specifications for print outlined above.

Application deadline: The deadline for submissions is 28th May 2012.

Where to send applications: Please send your proposed image as a JPEG file along with an artist's statement and contact details to kellyoreilly@london.com.

Exhibition dates: Artwork will be displayed from the 15th June until the 12th July and longer term homes for these are being assessed by Southwark Council. This period includes the 2012 Camberwell Arts Festival, which will take place from Saturday 16th - Sunday 24th June. The Festival is a partnership between artists, residents, traders, community groups and organisations within SE5 and is co-ordinated by Camberwell Arts.

About the selection process: A shortlist panel will decide which artworks are to be displayed and will include representation of both Camberwell Arts and Southwark Council.

DO IT!
